Wetting and dispersing additives for solvent-borne coil coatings and industrial coatings. Standard additives for acid-catalyzed and acid-curing coating systems.
Wetting dispersant HY-170
Overview:
Wetting and dispersing additives for solvent-borne coil coatings and industrial coatings. Standard additives for acid-catalyzed and acid-curing coating systems.
Typical materialized data:
Chemical composition: Modified polyurethane solution
Acid value: 11 mg KOH/g
Density (20 °C): 1.02 g/ml
Non-volatile content (20 min., 150 °C): 30%
Solvent: propylene glycol methyl ether acetate/butyl acetate
Flash point: > 26 °C
Special reminder:
Delamination and turbidity may occur at temperatures below 0 °C, heat to 20 °C and mix well before use. When the additive is applied to a two-component polyurethane system, the construction time limit of the system needs to be checked.
Fields of application:
Coating industry
Features and Benefits
The additives deflocculate the pigment by stabilizing the steric hindrance. Due to the small particle size of the deflocculated pigments, it is possible to achieve high gloss and improve color intensity. In addition, the transparency of transparent pigments and the hiding power of opaque pigments are also improved. Due to the reduction in viscosity, the flow properties are improved and the pigment content can be increased. HY-170 has a particularly high molecular weight, which results in excellent stability against inorganic and organic pigments.
Recommended use: Recommended for industrial coatings, especially for coil coatings. The most suitable areas of application are acid-catalyzed polyester/amino topcoats and PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) systems.
Suggested Dosage: The amount of additives used (purchased form) is based on the pigment.:
Titanium dioxide: 5-6% Inorganic pigments: 10-20%
Organic pigments: 35-70% Carbon black: 70-140%
Packing, transportation and storage:
25kg iron drum/plastic drum. Sealed storage, storage period at room temperature for 12 months.
